Romance Cocktail recipe

By MixThatDrink

The Romance Cocktail is all about coffee, chocolate and cream flavors. It’s sinfully rich and sweet. You could certainly describe it as a dessert drink or even a candy drink – a sort of mocha milk chocolate truffle in a glass.

This drink is all liqueurs, except for the ounce of cream. But it’s not a particularly strong drink because the liqueur proofs and the overall volume of alcohol are both low.

That also makes it a nice nightcap, when you don’t want something too strong. Just a little sweet drink with some cream in it to fill you up and get you ready to sleep.

The dominant note is mocha – chocolate with strong hints of coffee. The Irish cream adds a sweet caramel flavor,. Tia Maria gives it more of an espresso flavor, making the coffee flavor strong and sweet.

You can choose whichever brands you have on hand or whichever ones you like, since it’s impossible to get this drink wrong. Chocolate and coffee are just too wonderful together.

This one is ideal for after a special dinner, or at the end of a date. It’s very impressive served with some chocolate truffles or chocolate covered cherries.

Romance Cocktail served with candy

As sweet as this drink it, it goes very well with a slice of cheesecake or pound cake with no toppings. Or a croissant. Just about any sweet baked treat that tastes good with coffee or chocolate will be great served with this drink.

But it is terrific as a standalone dessert following just about any meal. You don’t even have to add the chocolate candies, although they make it an extra special treat.
