The Southern Ireland cocktail has nothing to do with the southern part of Ireland. The name instead comes from the fact that it’s a mixture of Southern Comfort whiskey liqueur with Baileys Irish cream.
The first flavor to hit you is that of whiskey, but it’s followed quickly by a hint of peaches and cream, and the peach is what lingers. It’s the rich heavy sweetness of the Irish cream uplifted by the peach from the Southern Comfort.
Recipe
- 1 ounce Baileys Irish cream
- 1 ounce Southern Comfort
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice. Pour in both ingredients, and shake until chilled. Put a few ice cubes into an old-fashioned glass, and strain the mixture into the glass.
