The Blackjack may get its name from the fact that it uses kahlua, which is so dark. Or it may just be that it hits the spot!
Either way, this is a fascinating blend of whiskey and coffee liqueur with a touch of citrus. The flavor is rich and complex, with the coffee flavor just barely dominating the earthy and citrus notes. This one’s great anytime you want something that’s scotch based but unique and different.
Recipe
- 1 1/2 ounces scotch
- 1 ounce kahlua
- 1/2 ounce triple sec
- 1/2 ounce lemon juice
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Pour in all the ingredients and shake well. Strain the mixture into an old-fashioned glass.
