The Watermelon Margarita adds a big serving of pureed watermelon to the traditional margarita recipe. This recipe uses a lot of lime and not that much orange, which makes for a very refreshing flavor – watermelon with a zing. Try one of these the next time you’re in the mood for the taste of watermelon.
Recipe
- 1 lime wedge
- 3 1/2 cups cubed seeded watermelon
- 1/2 cup tequila
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon Triple Sec
- Lime wedges or watermelon balls
Rim a margarita glass with sugar, using the juice from a lime wedge around the edges to make it stick. Put the watermelon, tequila, sugar, lime juice and Triple Sec into a blender and blend until it’s smooth. Fill up your glass with crushed ice and pour the mixture in over top of it. Garnish with lemon wedges or melon balls.
