The Centauri Sundown is a very easy-going drink. It puts the famously flavorless vodka with the grenadine of your childhood and the sour mix that’s not far off from a lemon-limeade. Neither your tastebuds nor your ability to stand up are being challenged much by this cocktail.
Think of the Centauri Sundown the next time you start to order a Vodka Cranberry or Cosmopolitan. It’s a similar drink: pinkish-red in color, nicely tart and just a little bit sweet.
Recipe
- 1 1/2 ounce vodka
- 1/2 ounce grenadine syrup
- 3 ounces fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1 1/2 ounces simple syrup
Fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice cubes. Pour vodka and grenadine in and shake it well. Strain that mixture into a chilled cocktail glass. Top that off with sour mix to taste.
